Facing waves of extreme heat, the demand for air conditioning in Brazil is growing significantly. Production of units is expected to increase by 15% in 2025, despite challenges such as high interest rates and a shortage of installers. Meteorologists report heat indices of up to 70°C in some cities, further boosting the HVAC-R sector.
According to Toríbio Rolon from Abrava, monthly sales may remain around 240,000 units, but an exact estimate for the year is still uncertain. In 2024, air conditioner production in the Manaus Free Trade Zone reached 6 million units, with split models standing out. Despite price increases early last year, retail sales recently dropped by 6.4%, making 2025 a promising year for the sector, driven by extreme heat and more affordable prices.
