According to data from the German data consultancy Statista, the air conditioning market is expected to generate USD 72 billion in 2025. The Japanese company Daikin is the largest manufacturer worldwide by net revenue, reaching USD 36.3 billion in 2022 (the latest consolidated data available for the sector).

Still, the world's largest air conditioner producer today is China, with surveys indicating that the Asian giant holds up to 90% of the global market share in the segment, home to 4 of the 10 largest manufacturers. Finally, the country also leads in the number of air conditioning units, with 569 million. Surprisingly, the U.S. follows with 374 million units—more than the country’s population of around 345 million.
