LG adopts new production techniques to reduce plastic use and carbon emissions in air conditioning.

LG Electronics has announced a major advancement in its air conditioning system production line. The company has implemented a new physical foam molding process that uses nitrogen gas to create bubbles in the material of the units’ outer panels. This technique enables a reduction of up to 900 grams of plastic per unit manufacturedIn addition, it replaced traditional ABS plastic with polypropylene (PP), a lighter material with a lower carbon footprint.
